The 2009 Carrier Survey shows an overall decrease of CO2 emissions during 2008, compared to 2007. The decrease is an average for all Volvo Logistics´ transports globally during the year of 2008.

Environmental optimised fuel is one step on the road to reducing carbon emissions at Volvo Logistics. A collaboration project between IKEA, H&M, DHL, Preem and Volvo Logistics has resulted in the first fuel station in Western Sweden selling ACP Diesel Bio 30.

2009-04-10 Bus chassis to Australia
Volvo Buses has received an order on 235 buses for Sydney and Brisbane in Australia with an option on further 250. Volvo Logistics will handle the delivery of chassis from the factory in Borås, outside Gothenburg, to the coach builder in Australia.

BestLog has selected Viking Rail, Volvo Logistics' intermodal material supply system from Germany to Sweden, as a case study. BestLog is an initiative from the European Commission to coordinate and spread state-of-the art competence within logistics (http://www.bestlog.org/).
2009-02-15 Lean packaging news
The all-new plastic boxes V-EMB 600 and V-EMB 800 are both designed for ergonomic and efficient assembly work. The boxes are modular and utilise the space of the line-side rack optimal. They go deep into the rack while the facades are short thereby reducing the assembly worker's walking distance. The boxes can be used all the way from the supplier to the assembly point without the need for unpacking. Empty boxes fit into another, which means they require minimum space during transport.
2009-01-09 Saving money for Haldex
Since January 2009 Haldex relies on Volvo Logistics for packaging and packaging management in Europe, USA, Mexico, Brazil, India and China. The main reason for the decision was the considerable economically and environmentally advantages of Volvo Logistics' system. Capital and resources tied up in own packaging are freed and return transports of empty packaging will be reduced significantly.
2009-01-08 Vehicle processing centre in Shanghai
Volvo cars from the European factories now travel in a new flow providing full control of the vehicle all the way to the new owner. The set-up has been developed and is now also operated by Volvo Logistics. The aim was to improve the efficiency and security of deliveries to the dealers across this huge country. Our solution comprised a new vehicle processing centre in Shanghai and a new distribution network. The latter also included tendering and training of the carriers.
