Smartphone system
Volvo Logistics and Volvo IT are testing a new smartphone system which speeds up and improves the flow of information during the delivery of new vehicles to the customer. Using the smartphone, the driver who is transporting the new vehicle can report that the vehicle is on its way, update the schedule and notify the system when the vehicle has been delivered to the dealer.

Volvo Logistic’s acadmic research project at the FFI conference
On Oct 26^th, Sofia Ohnell, Volvo Logistics Academic Research Programme Manager, will present the project “Transport Efficiency – A Pre-Study” at the FFI Conference in Gothenburg. The project, which was carried out in 2009-2011, studied transport efficiency from different actors’ perspectives. The project was chosen as one of five projects to be presented on-stage, and is together with the Duo2 project, the only ones from the Volvo Group to be selected for this.
